Serious Songs For Serious Earth

Jakub Z Short and sweet EP with 6 really kickass heavy, thrashy songs done by one pissed off dude and his friends. "America" makes you want to go punch some mooks in arcade beat\em up, while "Gravedigger" sounds like a b-side from one of those utterly forgotten 80's thrash metal bands. Overall a great package of raw passion and fury condensed into heavy metal EP. Favorite track: Gravedigger.

SN Almost Rob Zombie-inspired, easily my favorite track on the album! Favorite track: Gravedigger.

Wasted Youth 02:27
I remember everything. I remember every little thing as if it only happened yesterday. I was barely seventeen, and I once killed a boy with a Fender guitar. I don't remember if it was a...Telecaster or Stratocaster, but I do remember that had a heart of chrome and a voice like a horny angel. I don't remember if it was a Telecaster or a Stratocaster but I do remember that it wasn't at all easy. It required the perfect combination of the right power chords and the precise angle from which to strike! The guitar bled for...about a week afterwards, and the blood was zoot, dark and rich like wild berries. The blood of the guitar was CHUCK BERRY RED. The guitar bled for about a week afterwards, but it run out beautifully, and I was able to play notes that I'd never even heard before! So I took my guitar... AND I SMASHED IT AGAINST THE WALL! I SMASHED IT AGAINST THE FLOOR! I SMASHED IT AGAINST THE BODY OF A VARSITY CHEERLEADER! I SMASHED IT AGAINST THE HOOD OF A CAR! I SMASHED IT AGAINST A 1981 HARLEY DAVIDSON! THE HARLEY HOWLED IN PAIN... THE GUITAR HOWLED IN HEAT... And I ran upstairs to my parent's bedroom. Mummy and Daddy were sleeping quietly, in the moonlight. Slowly, I opened the door... Creeping in the shadows, right up to the foot of their bed... I raised the guitar, high above my head AND JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO BRING THE GUITAR CRASHING DOWN UPON THE CENTER OF THE BED MY FATHER WOKE UP SCREAMING: "STOP! WAIT A MINUTE! STOP, BOY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! THAT'S NO WAY TO TREAT AN EXPENSIVE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT!!" And I said, "GOD DAMN IT, DADDY! You know I love you... BUT YOU'VE GOT A HELL OF A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT ROCK AND ROLL!"

America 03:40
America wants you to believe America wants you to forget Tell me now what you got Tell me now what you get Nobody knows who you are Nobody gives a damn You do it for your country You do it for your Uncle Sam Living the American dream Living the American dream Nothing's ever what it seems I'm living the American dream! So sit down and watch your TV So sit down and have a beer Stay away from all the bad things Stay away from the queers The problem's with the government Problem's with the immigration Solution is so simple Solution is to rule to nation Living the American dream Living the American dream Nothing's ever what it seems When you're living the American dream! So I know that you don't wanna see me And I know that you think I should leave Tell me, if you make a decision Tell me, if you damn well please So fuck all the politicians And fuck your American dream Nothing's ever right in the system Nothing's ever what it seems Living the American dream Living the American dream Nothing's ever what it seems When you're living the American dream Living the American dream Living the American dream Nothing's ever what it seems I'm living the American dream! AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA

Gravedigger 03:35
At the speed of lightning At the speed of sound I gotta do what I gotta, before The body's found Buried in my backyard Digging up her grave Body torn, a wasteland, yeah, she Cannot be saved Gravedigger Gravedigger When the fuzz is on me I gotta look where I run Find a place for the body, because I won't be outdone I do it for my amusement I do it all for the fun I do it for your reactions, and I I have just begun Gravedigger Gravedigger Gravedigger Riding in the black and darkness Gravedigger Killing souls and riding in the night Once upon a time there was a lonely man He did as he would and he would do as he can But every so often, he would get a little itch To go to the graveyard and dig up some bitch Once upon a time there was a lonely man He did as he would and he would do as he can But every so often, he would get a little itch To go to the graveyard and dig up some bitch Go! Gravedigger Riding in the blackened darkness Gravedigger Swirling in the eye of the storm Gravedigger Standing still betwixt the realms Gravedigger Killing souls and riding in the night Gravedigger!

Tachikouma 04:58
"Do you remember that 'existence of God' thing I was having so much trouble understanding? I think I'm starting to grasp it now! In analog, it's God! In digital, it's zero! Because you have a Ghost, you can even die! You're so lucky!!" "I can only imagine what havoc your killing machine is going to wreak now..." "It was just...something you probably imagined." "Well, I hope you're right. There's no way we'll ever know for sure, now."

Iron birds of fortune Adrift above the skies Cloudy revelations Unseen by naked eyes And flying tools of torment Will penetrate the sphere Erupt the rock of ages Bringing final fear Instruments of Destruction Tools of power play It's a violent eruption Existence drips away What it really mattered When nothing really counts Grave eternal darkness when you're Drained of every ounce And when the nightmare's over The final from the storm The dust of all creation To ashes, we transform Instruments of Destruction Tools of power play It's a violent eruption Existence drips away Instruments of Destruction Tools of power play It's a violent eruption Existence drips away

Baltimore 03:40
Swirling in the vortexes of People, places, things Walking on these lonely streets where Lonely people sing 'Cause it's 3am and I'm wearing thin of Quiet, lovely Baltimore The only place where I've ever felt that Maybe there's something more So tell me now that love is true And tell me that you love me too And tell me that there's something more Than quiet, lovely Baltimore A light turns on in the center street where Quiet people like to eat An endless turn of talk and tire and Crying babes and funeral pyre A cold wind blows down from the doors of Quiet, lovely Baltimore The only face where I've ever felt like Maybe there's something more So tell me what you see in here And tell me all your biggest fears And tell me that there's something more Than lonely, lovely Baltimore ... So tell me now that love is true And tell me that you love me too And tell me that there's something more Than quiet, lovely Baltimore So tell me who you think you are And tell me why you've come so far And tell me that there's something more Than lonely. lovely Baltimore

about

Serious Songs For Serious Earth was intended to be the original follow-up album to Lamda Ecks, and I started writing it in conjunction with the 'Bleedthrough' EP (which later became Termina) with the intent to release them simultaneously. Serious Songs fell by the wayside when a few of the songs didn't come together so well.

While some of the ideas in it evolved into FIRST BLOOD, several of the tracks got cut when that album's focus shifted towards tributes to action and scifi films. I didn't want those to go to waste, so I took the songs, polished them up real good, and asked for some help along the way. Now I present to you, Serious Songs For Serious Earth: An Onslaught Six EP.
